Vantard Grand Opening // Call for entries!

Thanks again for all your devotion and passion for the call which is now closed.

Here is the list of the short listed artists that have been selected for the 1st exhibiton:

Vantard is very proud to announce the call for entries for the opening of the Vantard's Gallery in Lutry, Switzerland the 26 April 2008.

We aim to promote either local artists as talents from everywhere in the globe and am therefore planning to present 6 resident artists at Vantard, 2 locals which will be Vise and hopefully you. The 5 others will be determined based on the heart beats resulting from the discovery of your work.

Call for entries details
Vantard gallery is inviting artists to submit their work in relation with the street art and technique. Work can be delivered in any format and medium. The size of the piece should not be more than 2x1.6 meter (70x60 in). The art piece will have to reflect the theme “Game & Watch”.

We are waiting for your Artist Statement and resume and around 6 images of your piece. Submission deadline through email: entry@vantard.ch no later than the 24 March 2008 12:00 CET

Apparently the deadline is quiet tight. Therefore the submission deadline is postponed to the 24 March 2008 at 12:00 CET.
The result of the call will be reveal till the 01 April. Any applicant will get a feedback about his application.
The exhibition will be open on a daily basis from the 26 April to the 24 may 2008.
The theme "Game & Watch" refer mostly to the handled games of the 80's but is open to any other interpretation.
The privacy of any submission will be kept.
The real identity of the artist will not be reveal if specified.
Each artist can submit up to 2 different pieces.
Each piece will be available for sale. The price and commission of each piece will be agreed with the selected artists in due time. Vantard will take care of half the price of the shipping coasts. If the piece is not sold it will return to the artist.
The artist statement should contain the bio of the artist as well some details about his work on the piece submitted.

The questions you would love to know the answers
Question: Why the hell that guy had chosen such place instead of NY, Paris, Berlin or at least Zurich or Geneva?
Answer: Because he had the opportunity to rent a space below his flat and thought that it would be good to reduce the time from here to his bed after parties. Also because in Lutry we have walls with wines yards growing on it and one of the most delicious white wine of the world I swear.

Question: Why the bloody hell that guy thinks I will apply for his entry?
Answer: Because when you will be chosen, spent a great night here and drunken 5 bottles of wine you will love to do not have to take a taxi or something for hours and dive directly in a comfortable bed a few stairs ahead.
